AverMedia BU110
The Ultimate Livestreaming Gear?
As an AverMedia fan boy, I know they create great products that help creators to create, without the hassle of certain other brands.
So does the BU110 carry on this tradition? I think so, but let's talk about that more!
First off you may be asking what is the BU110 (also known as the ExtremeCap UVC)?
The AverMedia BU110 is fairly simple device from a user standpoint but with incredible technology packed in that opens up an innumerable amount of possibilities for video creators and content streamers.

Essentially it can take a HDMI signal from it's input and output it through it's USB-C port. This gives you the perfect way to stream to mobile devices when you are in an outdoor situation as well as in a studio situation when you need a direct link.
This means you can take your DSLR or Handycam and plug it into the BU110 then straight into a desktop computer to get video feed in your video or streaming software.
The BU110 has full compatibility with existing third-party streaming software like OBS, Wirecast, XSplit, Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, and more.
As well as being detectible by USB-C mobile devices, so you can use software like CameraFi and CameraFi-Live to stream directly to various services.
My current setup is as follows and has allowed us to do completely mobile streaming using our Sony AX-53 over 4G. Giving us 1080p 60fps and lovely quality.
As you can see we have quite a nifty little rig here, so what we have is a Sony AX-53 being fed into the BU110 via HDMI, the BU110 then connects over USB-C to our Motorola G7 Power.
The G7 Power then connects to the internet over 4G and I stream using CameraFi-Live which streams to Restream that then goes out to DLive, Mixer, Facebook and Periscope.
Rather than use the built-in microphone on the AX-53, I use the AverMedia Live Streamer Mic 133 which in my personal experience gives a cleaner audio output than other competitors in this price range.
From the onset of receiving my unit I've had a very slick experience, I did stumble onto one issue but that was due to using an older phone that wasn't supplying enough power over USB-C. Using this newer phone it was really plug and play.
The output from the uncompressed 1080/60 is really stunning for a mobile rig. Using this handycam gives completely different visual look and style to shots, which makes the BU110 worth every penny for creators.
You can view something we are using it for, direct camera output in nightvision mode -
The AverMedia BU110 is a fantastic bit of kit that really does open up the possibilities in studios and also for outdoor shoots whether that's using WiFi or 4G like us, you can shoot in pretty much every situation.
Priced at around £159.90 on Amazon.co.uk it's a fairly smart pickup for content creators out there who are looking to up their game!
I wholeheartedly recommend it to you guys and girls.
