So as you can see, there is definitely A LOT to this budget phone that sets it apart from competitors. How does it actually perform?
First off, the cameras. I think this is a HUGE selling point for most people when they are looking at phones.
I have to say, I am VERY impressed. My main phone is an iPhone 11 and I have to say...the Redmi Note 9 Pro is AWESOME in this respect.
The main 48MP camera takes great images with a lot of dynamic range, sharpness and clarity. The resolution is above even that of my iPhone 11 and looks beautiful.
It also has a night mode that helps nail a natural look in dark scenes.
The ultra-wide angle camera is also really lovely, sharp, good contrast and perfect to get more in the frame.
There is also a dedicated macro camera, something I haven't really seen that often (and even when I have...they haven't been great).
This is the first time I am IMPRESSED with a dedicated macro camera on a phone, it's my favourite thing to play with.
Images are extremely clear, you can focus at pretty much NO distance (just be careful not to scratch the lens) and I've got some real gems with it.
Another thing I really like is the In-display selfie camera!
No specific bezel to facilitate the camera.
It is a tiny pinhole in the screen and gives remarkably good images.
Overall, cameras will not disappoint you.
The screen is bright, a cinematic 20:9 aspect ratio, quite large at 6.67' and has a resolution of 2400 x 1080. While it may not be the BEST screen in existence, it is nice to look at, easy to read, has anti-oil and anti-fingerprint nano coating (stops those annoying smears).
I honestly had no qualms watching this, it was a pleasant experience for YouTube, films and even games.
Also with such a large screen, you need some battery behind it.
The 5020 mAh battery easily gets you through a day and when you DO need to charge it, there is 18W Fast Charging facility.
I used the Redmi Note 9 Pro for an entire week and I have to say, I was extremely impressed. It feels like a flagship product, when you compare that it is only a 1/4 of the price, that is extremely impressive.
Games responded fast, the speakers do their job, didn't have any unexplained crashes. Slick.
For anyone looking for a budget friendly phone that feels, looks and operates at a quality level close to those in the higher end, I'd absolutely recommend the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
