The Vanacci Watch
The Vanacci Watch is a newly launched timepiece from Vanacci, previously known for their stylish Carbon Wallets.
Does this snazzy looking watch live up to the name?
The Vanacci Watch has launched on Kickstarter and already surpassed it’s initial goal, so obviously people think so!
We have been wearing and using the watch in day to day life and have a more definitive answer, but first a bit about the watch.
It looks super smart and elegant, a timepiece you can use as your day to day timekeeper or as part of your formal going out attire. It looks great with anything you wear, which is a big plus.
It has a Roman Numeral number representing 12 and 6, with indentations for the hours. Luminescent hands let you easily know the time even in the dark.
You also have the date neatly slipped in there on the side.
The strap is natural leather in the style of carbon fibre, which quite simply adds a stunning aesthetic to overall design.
The amount of detail and craftsmanship that goes into these is breathtaking, the stitching, the mounts, the internalized details, make this one for even the high end collectors out there.
The watch face has a Dichroic effect, meaning it gradients from a dark navy colour into a beautiful teal blue depending on the angle you are looking at it from. It is a shimmering metallic effect that radiates quality.
The enclosure is watertight up to 3 atmospheres, meaning you don’t have to worry about it in the rain or getting splashed. Something that you would expect of a watch at this price, so nothing out of the ordinary here.
The luminescent hands are useful when the light is dimming and you would otherwise have to find a light source. They glow a dim yellowish colour that enables you to make out the time fairly easy.
Personally I love this as there have been a lot of times, I know that I couldn’t have made out the time without the effect, so it’s rather helpful.
The internal battery is rated at 45 months, meaning you won’t have to worry about changing it every 6 months as some others have led us to do.
The unique way they create and treat their leather straps is wonderful too.
It has a micro carbon fibre pattern overlayed on high quality leather, keeping the supple soft leather feel with a highly stylised and elegant carbon fibre look.
Vanacci also treated the strap in a special way that makes it over 200 times tougher than untreated leather, meaning it can withstand pretty much anything you throw at it.
Now that the details are out of the way, we can give you our personal opinion and thoughts on the watch.
We have worn it for a couple of weeks now to a variety of places and in different environments and it has never looked out of place.
It gets complimented on the style, works flawlessly and is so comfortable you almost forget it is there.
The strap is very comfy, fits neatly even on my larger wrists, doesn’t slip or move too much.
The date and time are easily set via the pin on the right hand side, one stop for time, two stops for date.
As the build is from Forged Stainless Steel and specially treated leather, you can immediately tell it will stand the test of time, it feels like a luxury watch should, and that this price point is quite frankly superb.
It is a stunning watch, from the quality Swiss movement, the gorgeous face with white trim, one of the lightest yet sturdy feeling watches I have ever had sit on my wrist.
Priced from £70, it truly is a bargain of a luxury style watch.
The Vanacci Watch is a winner and get’s a big thumbs up from us.
